The Semper Fi Fund Benefit Match is a six stage Steel Challenge Match that raises funds for the Semper Fi Fund. The Semper Fi Fund, and its program America’s Fund, provide immediate financial assistance and lifetime support to post-9/11 wounded, critically ill and injured members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and their families, ensuring that they have the resources they need during their recovery and transition back to their communities. Since establishing the Semper Fi Fund in 2004, we’ve issued more than 125,000 grants, totaling more than $138 million in assistance to over 17,500 of our heroes and their families. For every dollar raised, 94 cents goes directly to the veterans and their families.
The America’s Fund program has assisted over 1500 service members and their families since March 2012, and we have issued over 9,300 grants, totaling $13.9 million in assistance. We work to ensure that no one is left behind. For every dollar raised, 94 cents goes directly to the veterans and their families.
In June of 2017, over 100 competitors from 4 states gathered together to show their support for those who have made the ultimate sacrifice of themselves for this country. We were able to raise over $10,000 to give to the fund and had a great time doing it. Much to our surprise the Semper Fi Fund sent us Marine GySgt Brian Meyer, Retired to visit us. Brian is a triple amputee who benefits from the efforts of programs like our match.
Several firearms are given away to veterans of each branch of service by random drawing. Match, class and division winners are recognized with awards and a trip to the prize tables. The local Marine Corps League provides chow each day and will make a repeat appearance in 2018.
This year’s event will be held June 2rd. Preregistration is required. Register at Practiscore. We will be limited to 78 competitors on match day. Online registration opens on 1/1/2018. Match fee is $55 for the first gun, and $15 for the second (one division MUST be rimfire). For offline registration please contact Rick Davis. Descriptions of allowed divisions can be found here.
